Trim-A-Slab 1" is designed for expansion joints that were either over-sized, or that have opened up excessively since they were poured. Over-sized joints may be found in older homes, where true 1" wide lumber may have been used.

Note that Trim-A-Slab will fit in joints that are smaller than 7/8", however, the top 'crown' of Trim-A-Slab will then protrude above the slab surface, which may be a tripping hazard. It is recommended to use 3/4" Trim-A-Slab in expansion joints below 7/8" wide.
