Trim-A-Slab 3/4" is the most common size used in residential applications. It replaces a 1x4 or 1x3 board which is used 90%+ of the time. Trim-A-Slab is designed for use with rounded-edge slabs typically found in residential driveways, and in sidewalks both residential and commercial. See the figures below for cross-section views of Trim-A-Slab in the range of expansion joint sizes for which this product is recommended

Note that Trim-A-Slab will fit in joints that are smaller than 5/8", however, the top 'crown' of Trim-A-Slab will then protrude above the slab surface, which may be a tripping hazard. It is not recommended to use Trim-A-Slab in expansion joints below 5/8" for this reason.
